Kelly Blumenthal tem um doutoramento em Astrofísica pela Universidade do Havai e um mestrado em Educação pela Faculdade de Educação de Harvard.

Combatting misinformation: Working with communities to move beyond missing information
Abstract
Misinformation has become an increasingly pervasive issue in modern society, as the ever-evolving landscape of social media and AI siloes people into affinity groups and amplifies false claims. In this workshop, we'll explore the science behind what makes misinformation "sticky" and the role trust plays in communicating science. We'll investigate strategies for combating misinformation in an informal education environment, while thinking critically about the conversations we have with people every day. Finally, we'll learn how to construct memorable narratives that facilitate learning, helping us cultivate a relationship with the public that fosters trust in science and scientists.
